Stress

We are living in a world of stress everywhere. Doctors have confirmed stress is very unhealthy for us all. But it seems impossible to not stress. Since I have suffered so much the last couple of years with stress due to the many misfortunes that have happened in our lives I have began seeking answers from God. Always when seeking answers from God I have gotten answers and this time has been no different. So I wanted to share what God has been teaching me for the late March teaching lol. My teaching is late due to the many stresses in my life! God help me! And He is lol …

In order to not stress you have to do this: You have to realize that you will do your best... and that is all that you can do. If your best can't do what is required then something else will have to happen... you can't change that. I am serious here... God has been showing me this... Let me explain deeper.

It is always easy to say what needs to be done... but it is the doing that heals. Think about it... let me tell you what God said to me...

Okay you have worried and stewed over the problem you are dealing with... you have been a nervous wreck... you have lost sleep... you have cried and prayed... did any of that change the out come?

My answer of course was "NO"

Then God said... so why did you waste your precious life ... all those hours of wonderful life worrying and stewing over what you couldn’t change?

Then He explained what I said above... “He said all you are asked to do is your best... look at the situation and do what you can to make it better... and leave the rest to ME”.

God went on to say, “It does not do any good to worry... what is going to happen is going to happen ... you cannot control other people... so you must do what you can ... control yourself and do what is right by My Word and leave the rest to Me… What you can't do that ends up hurting you I will turn around in the end for your good one-way or the other”.

Trust! God has taught me a lot about trusting Him… it sounds so easy… I mean if you can’t trust God whom can you trust… right. But we all know it is not that easy to just give up when you have done your best and say “It’s okay, God will handle it from here and make it work for my good.” Remember God tells us to bring these stresses to Him in prayer and then leave them there and trust Him to work them out.

We feel we have been done wrong and it is … well WRONG! And we have to do something to make it right and someone needs to get their act together or else… and then there is that awful little voice that says “God let you down here!” the awful little voice doesn’t stop there… oh no… then he says “It would have been so easy for God to have fixed this… but He didn’t… He just let you suffer at the hand of this (fill in the blank with your problem)”. When we hear that little awful accusing voice we think … yeah why didn’t God fix this?

Right there the enemy got you! The enemy made you doubt God, join him in accusing God of failing… Please think about this. This is where the enemy is getting a stronghold in so many of our lives. When we accuse our God of failing us we have just stopped God’s hand in our problem because our faith in God just went south! How can you stand up strong in faith that God is going to fix the problem you are having when you have just accused God of not being there for you?

You must learn the voice of God and the voice of the enemy. I can tell you right now the voice of the enemy is always accusing someone of something to make you feel less! God’s voice is always lifting you up and telling you it will be okay do what you can and pray, trust God and He will do wonders for you. God’s voice will always build you up.

Now you might ask why didn't God answer the prayers I prayed during the stress attack. God did answer us… He answered us before we asked these things that require someone else to change… God said, "I give you freedom to choose." This is a great gift… and awesome frightening gift… because God is completely honest in everything He does. He told us that because of this gift to choose those that choose to do wrong would hurt innocent people. But he also told us that if we trust Him… He will fix it for us whatever they do to us … He will fix it one way or another. He told us to wait on Him… keep trusting Him, stand on His word when everything seems to be falling in around us… keep trusting Him as He is working on it for our good.

I know there is no way I can explain all this in this one short teaching! I also know that many horrible things happen to people … sometimes people we love die … sometimes at the hand of someone who chose to do wrong… death is permanent so you think how on earth can God turn this around for my good? But wait, it is not all about us… what about the one who died? There are many reasons given in the bible about why someone is taken… God said sometimes it is not for us to know. Other times God will reveal why. But the bottom line is there is a reason and death is not the horrible thing to God that it is to us! You see we see death as loss here… but God sees death as birth into eternity! No one will ever die lost … believe this! God revealed this to me many years ago. People do not die lost… they die with the choice they made… to accept Jesus or not accept Him. It doesn’t matter when they die… they had all the chances they needed to make their choice. God is fair and honest! He knows His own. He said the angels would not pull up the tares before the wheat was ready for harvest. So you can be sure that when someone dies they had all the chance they ever needed to make their choice. And those that chose Jesus do not die but pass from this life to the next! The next life being wonderful and eternal where God wipes away all tears, so for the one that left us it is joy not sorrow. This is a hard saying but true!

You see there is nothing happening to you that God can’t handle. It just seems that way to us when we feel so out of control. It is this out of control that makes the stress … we want to control things and we can’t! That is God’s job and when God is left to do the controlling we are all much happier! I do not claim to be stress free … but I am learning how to truly give my stress to God and leave it there for Him to take care of. God has never let me down and I know He never will. I have let God down. For that I am so sorry. Our work of learning to trust God will never be done as long as we have breath… because life is going to throw things at us that we can’t handle as long as we have breath! So please give it to God and leave it there!

I pray this helps some find hope again and helps others seek more. My joy is in the Lord, my learning is through the Holy Spirit and my hope is in God! I cannot lose.
