God wants to bless you!

This last year I have learned to truly walk in God’s blessing. So much has changed at our home and in our lives that I sit amazed. I started truly praying for God to bless us. That is all I did… I would first talk to God about forgiveness as I am a firm believer in forgiving everyone regularly. I refuse to let the enemy get a hold on our lives through unforgiveness! So when I talk to God I always forgive everyone I can think of for anything they have done that hurt me or upset me. Then I talk to Him about healing my body and keeping me healthy. Then I thank Him for all the blessings I have. I thank Him for the sacrifice Jesus made for me and the fact that God the Father stood back and allowed them to kill Jesus for me. That is love that is beyond our full understanding! That God the creator of heaven and earth and everything that is would love me so much that He would allow us to kill His Holy Son so that our eternal lives would be saved! What an Awesome God we serve!

After this fellowship with my Father God I then ask Him to bless our family. I ask for blessings on my husband, my children and my grandchildren. When I would ask God to bless us I was asking for health and finances. I started doing this a little over a year ago. Now understand that I have always asked God to bless us. I prayed and talked with God… but my asking was not regular nor was it done in much faith. It was just sort of routine because that is what you do… not a lot of thought went into it. We were having some real problems in our lives. We had lost some family members and some pets we dearly loved. Our finances were not what they once were and I began to talk to God about our problems… God said “You have not because you ask not”. So I went to the Word and started doing bible research on asking. I found wonderful things about how God wants to bless us. So I started praying regularly for God to bless us… like I said I ask for blessings for our health and our finances. God started blessing us! I kept praying and God kept blessing. My husband and I are both healthier today and our finances have improved greatly. I have shared this with family & friends and they have done the same… and God started blessing them! There is no gimmick… you don’t have to send me money for God to bless you! Just pray and ask for His blessings and see what happens! It gives God pleasure to bless His people! I have had a very busy year and I have grown in the Lord this year. I want to share that with you. I have seen God move in mighty ways this last year. Don’t miss understand me… my life is not all roses. We live in a world where we are all given the freedom of choice… this freedom comes with a great price for us as well as for God. So evil people do evil things, bad people do bad things, cheaters cheat and so on… all this affects us all. Not to mention our own mistakes. So even when we are being blessed there are problems we must deal with for all the above reasons. However God also told us that if we trust Him He will turn things that happen to us around for our good. And I am a witness that He does.

We have been walking in God’s blessings and I like it. So a few months ago I realized that God has answered my prayer to bless us health wise and financially but I had failed to ask for Spiritual blessings… so I added that to my request and with in 24 hours God has opened doors for me to walk in to be blessed Spiritually as well. I am finding it is God’s good pleasure to bless His people in all ways. So I would say to you to first if you are not God’s child that you seek Jesus Christ as your Savior and receive Him as your Lord according to:

John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Then once you have received Jesus as your savior and seek God for help in all things… ask and you shall receive according to:

James 4:2 (KJV) Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

There are many scriptures in the bible about being blessed of God… too many to put them in one teaching for sure. In my seeking over a year ago I learned that this passage in James is so true… I had not because I did not ask! So I started asking and I have received and I give God all the praise and glory. I wanted to share this with you. Seek God’s blessings and you will be amazed … I was and still am!

I have been in God’s service for many years and God has given me the gift of teaching and counseling but we are always learning new things. It always seems easier to pray for others than it is to pray for ourselves. I have also learned this year that God wants us to pray for ourselves. It is okay to ask… He wants us to ask, so He can give to us. The bible is truly a living Word and you can always find new things when you study it.
