Spirit, Soul & Body
Just
as God is three persons in one we are also three parts in one: Spirit, Soul and
Body. Our soul is where we have been given the gift of choice. With
the soul we think and learn. With the soul we know right from wrong and the
soul is what we lose for ever if we do not accept the sacrifice of Jesus. Our personalities
come from our soul. The soul is where we operate in the flesh. The soul is
where we war against God if we have not accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
God
tells us in Hebrews that the bible (Word of God) will reveal to us what is
right and wrong with out doubt if we want to know. Study His Word and you will
be able to bring your soul under the rule of the spirit which is where we communicate
with God.
Our spirit
is our life and it is where God dwells with us.
So you see
our spirit is not in control until we accept Jesus as our Savior. Our spirit is
our life and to be saved we must also give our life to Jesus just as He gave
His for us. The soul no longer is the boss of your life, the soul must now allow
the spirit to be in control and the spirit wants to follow God and do right. Once
a person has truly accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior the spirit then can communicate
with God through Jesus and God can then help them change. I have had many
people ask me how this can work and I can not answer that question… because
this is between them and God. They have to trust God and believe what God said
first then God will help them.
We
all know the body is the house we live in on this earth… when our spirit leaves
the body the soul is kept alive by the blood of Jesus if one is saved but if
one has not accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior the soul dies. The spirit of that
person then suffers punishment for the wrong done to God. God calls our body
his temple:
So
when you do accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior God through His Holy Spirit
comes and makes your body His temple… This is an awesome thing.
Many
people wear a mask daily to hide their sin, hide their shame… because they don’t
want to deal with the truth in their soul. They pretend things are fine. They
spend their time blaming others for everything that is wrong with them because
they do not want to deal with the truth in their soul. But God sees the truth
in the soul of every person. Every person that admits God is real knows this,
yet they still try to hide behind a mask in front of the world to hide their
real failures. Some of these people are saying they are Christians! They want
to be Christians but they don’t want to pay the price to be a Christian. They
want the blessings but they don’t want to obey God. No one can serve God and
hide behind a mask. A mask hide’s shameful truth that the person wearing the
mask knows very well is wrong but doesn’t want to give up the thing that is
wrong. This action puts a barrier between them and God so their prayers are not
answered the way they want them to be… then they blame God… they say I prayed
and nothing happened.
God
has laid out rules for how to follow Him… these rules will stand no matter how
much a person prays and blames. God said you can only come to me through Jesus…
Jesus said accept Me and obey Me and I will be your Lord. So the mask has to
come off. If a person wants to serve God they must obey God by taking control
of their soul and doing things God’s way to the best of their ability. We all
make mistakes… a mistake is doing something you truly believe is right and then
finding out it was wrong… this is a mistake. Not doing something you already
know is wrong and hoping you can make it work… then when it doesn’t calling it
a mistake… hello! God demands that we walk in truth. And God knows the truth of
each one of us and what we are doing and why. The mask does not fool God… it
does not even fool the one wearing it and to the surprise of some it doesn’t
fool those around them for long.
Some
people hide behind a mask so long they can’t seem to figure out who they really
are. This is because they have ran from their shame so hard and so far that
they have so much of it … it is overwhelming to them. Every time someone tries
to witness to them they take a quick look at what they have done and quickly
block it all out. They have fallen for the lies of the enemy so long that they
truly feel there is no way out of all their sin! How sad is this. What a lie!
Jesus said He would forgive “ALL” if we only ask. Right now you can ask God to
forgive you all the shame and wrong doing in your life and He will do it
through the sacrificial blood of Jesus. But the key is to then allow God to be
God of your life from this moment on… no more masks… repent of the sin and
accept the forgiveness and live the rest of your life seeking the truth through
God and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Anyone can do this! But you must
give up the lies and wrong doing and do your best to do right and forgive
