Reality Check

Are you a Christian?

Have you accepted the sacrifice Jesus made for your sins?

Have you received His forgiveness?

Have you taken what Jesus did for you on the cross personal?

Let’s do a reality check and see…

The bible says to know the truth and the truth will set you free!

In order for you to receive your salvation ~

You must make Jesus Christ your “personal” Lord and Savior.

John 8:31-32 (KJV) 31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;   32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Knowing the truth of what Jesus did for you on the cross is how you will be able to accept this truth and walk in your salvation. First you must see the truth of just exactly what Jesus did… Jesus paid the price for every single sin you ever committed by His brutal death on the cross. Then Jesus offered this sacrifice to you and asked you to accept it. Do you truly accept that Jesus Christ paid the price for every sin you have ever committed or ever will commit when He died on the cross? Do you realize that by accepting this sacrifice that you have been released of the liability of those sins? You are FREE! Do you accept that? Because if you don’t then what did Jesus do for you? Jesus said on the cross in His last words: “It is finished!” The price is paid… so do you truly accept the truth of what Jesus did?

John 19:30 (KJV) 30When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, it is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

This is something everyone needs to truly deal with in their walk; seek the truth of what Jesus really did for you. The first thing one has to do is realize that salvation is acceptance of the sacrifice Jesus made by giving His life for your sin! This means that every bad thing, every hurtful thing, every ungodly thing you ever did or will do was covered on the cross by the blood of Jesus. This is FORGIVENESS! When you accept that you are totally forgiven… then and only then can you do what Jesus commanded that you do, forgive all others their sins against you! This means you must release the liability of the sin against you that others have committed! This means every single hurt you have ever suffered or ever will suffer must be forgiven and released by you just as Jesus did this same thing for you! To many people are harboring the sins of others against them… holding the hurt of these sins and refusing to release these people for their sin against them. Jesus said “If you accept my sacrifice for your sins, then you must forgive others as I have forgiven you.”

Matthew 6:14-15 (KJV) 14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:  15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Mark 11:25 (KJV) 25And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Luke 6:37-38 (KJV)37Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: 38Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Colossians 3:12-15 (KJV)  12Since God chose you to be the holy people whom he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13You must make allowance for each other's faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14And the most important piece of clothing you must wear is love. Love is what binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are all called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

I have given several scriptures on forgiveness because this is such an important issue in our walk with Jesus. This is the most problem area for people. First they don’t truly understand what Jesus really did for them, and second they don’t understand how to release others and themselves through forgiveness! Romans & Hebrews along with many others gives us the salvation message:

Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Hebrews 5:8-9 (KJV) 8Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Here is the key “OBEY HIM” what did Jesus ask us to do? Follow Him… do what He did which is to walk in love and forgiveness! There are no exceptions here my friends… let this truth soak in and it will set you free from all guilt and harbored grudges. What is a harbored grudge? UNFORGIVENESS! What is forgiveness? Giving someone a gift of undeserved forgiveness, remember none of us deserve to be forgiven… it is a GIFT!  Jesus gave the gift to you if you will accept it and He commanded that you then give this gift to everyone you know. Forgive and be forgiven! It is that simple!

Yet people all over the world seem to struggle with this simple command… forgive. Release those who have hurt you… forgive them as Jesus forgave you. Who has hurt you as much as you have hurt Jesus? After all Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins against God. Has anyone hurt you that badly? Forgiveness is for your own good, grudges do not hurt the one you are holding the grudge against it only hurts you. Especially if the one you are holding the grudge against is dead. Forgive them and release them as Jesus forgave you and released you and you will then be set free.

Obedience to Jesus will give you the victory in all things. If Jesus is your Lord then obey Him and forgive others like He forgave you! Then you will have an open door to God and to Jesus to receive blessing from them. Keeping bitterness shuts this door. Harboring hurt feelings because of what someone else did that hurt you is showing you have not forgiven that person and that is where the hurt is really coming from… not what they did… that will never change. It is done, passed can’t be changed. The only hope you have of getting relief is to forgive them and move on with the Lord in your walk of salvation. Jesus will do the same for you!

How I wish I could make you all see how refusing to forgive is hurting your walk for Jesus! Hurting your own heart, keeping you down and unhappy! People hurt each other… people we love hurt us… sometimes not realizing and sometimes on purpose but no matter how the hurt got there… to get free you must forgive! Forgiving is true devotion to Jesus. Only someone who truly loves Jesus with all their heart can humble themselves enough to forgive others completely because of the love of Jesus to us. Because Jesus forgave us when we did not deserve it, when we hurt Him! Please forgive everyone who ever hurt you so you can walk in the true freedom Jesus died to give you!

Always remember forgiveness does not take away the action that caused the hurt… it does not make the action okay… it is FORGIVENESS … undeserved favor. A gift… you owed on a debt and someone else paid the debt for you.  Someone owed you a debt and you paid the debt for them. Released them from the debt they owed. Debt PAID! It was legally owed; you gave them the gift of freedom from the debt. Please study this and know in your heart what Jesus did for you and what you must do for others. When you really get it you will be FREE like you have never known before!

I hope I have helped you see this truth and have helped you see a way to free yourself from pass pain. If you need counsel on these hurt feelings just email me and I will be happy to pray with you and give you more scripture that will help. Thank you for visiting this ministry website and please share it with your friends and family.
